Not Satisfied May 10, 2023 Reviewer: Matt from Michigan   My rod broke the very first time I took it out. I’ve never broken a rod in my life so needless to say I am not satisfied. Now I’m out a rod unless I ship the broken one back and pay half the price of a new one? I will just put that money to use buying a quality product. Was this review helpful to you?

Husband is THRILLED! November 2, 2022 Reviewer: Sarita Johnston from SODDY DAISY, TN United States   I purchased both these rods for my husband and he is overwhelmed!  He has St Croix and Fenwick rods and says these are even more impressive, besides the cost, the customer service is great!  I ordered him a reel combo and reel did not come in with rods so next day in the mail, we received 2 reels!  We didn't expect that, but this is the type company they are, Family Owned, and it shows, as we own our own business as well!  Thank you Was this review helpful to you?

Wilderness rod - spinning June 3, 2022 Reviewer: Robert Annalora from Portland, OR United States   I received the rods in a card board tube. The tube was crushed by the carrier and broke the longer rod but the shorter rod escaped breakage.    The freight damage was not Gapen’s fault and they said they would replace the broken rod. I sent picture of how I got the crushed case and broken in half rod.  They seem like a stand up company.     Now to the rod.  The rod, as all the rods in this series are touted to be the most sensitive spinning rods. That is why I bought them. Well, I took it fishing the first time and boy was it!!   I got 5 touches in the hour I was fishing, but due to how sensitive  it was, I hooked all five!!    Additionally, the eyelet wrappings were a beautiful green and coated perfect.  It is a very handsome rod.   For the money I recommend getting at least one.   I would however, suggest that I would be happy to pay a bit more to have them shipped in metal tubes like a fly rod to protect the rods.  At least offer the case as an add on.
