Gapen Red Ball Jig - Egg-Imitating Jig with Scented Tippers
The Gapen Red Ball Jig is a completely unique fishing lure that targets a natural feeding instinct found in nearly all gamefish — the drive to eat eggs. Featuring a flashing tin body plated in nickel or gold and tipped with heavily anise-scented red egg tippers, the Red Ball draws fish in with flash and triggers strikes with its egg-like shape, color, and scent.
Available in Fire Tiger (Glow), Gold/Red, Silver/Red, White (Glow), and Chartreuse (Glow), and in sizes 1/32 oz, 1/8 oz, and 1/4 oz, it is effective for panfish, perch, rock bass, walleye, bass, trout, pike, and lake trout in both summer and winter.

How to Fish It: Use lifts and twitches to attract fish, then hold the Red Ball completely still. Most strikes occur during the pause. If no strike after 30 seconds, twitch a few times and wait again. This “still” presentation is the key to the Red Ball’s success.

Fishing Tips: Work the Red Ball with a series of lifts and twitches to draw fish in, then hold it completely still for up to 30 seconds. Most strikes occur while the lure is motionless. If no strike, twitch 2–3 times and pause again. Effective vertically under the ice or in open water for panfish, perch, crappie, walleye, bass, trout, and lake trout. Tip with the included scented red egg tippers for maximum attraction.
