TTS Bass Kit vs Walleye Kit: buy the TTS Walleye Kit ($8.25) if you want a Ned rig you can fish today. It comes with 3 L-Leeches, 3 T-Leeches, two 1/8 oz and two 1/10 oz Ned head jigs, and a box. Buy the TTS Bass Kit ($8.75) if you fish weedless for largemouth or smallmouth. It comes with 6 T-Worms, 3 Rocket Squids, 6 hooks, and a box. If you're after crappie and bluegill, look at the TTS Papa Jig Pack ($12.75) instead.

That's the short answer. The rest of this page is the stuff people call the shop about: what's actually in each box, which one comes with jig heads, and when a kit is the wrong buy. Every kit is hand-packed and ships from Iowa. TTS soft plastics are American-made.

TTS Bass Kit vs Walleye Kit: what's in each box?

A TTS kit is a small, hand-packed box of TTS plastics plus the hooks or heads to fish them, sized for one species and one style of fishing. Here's what the live product pages list as of Oct 6, 2026:

Which kit comes ready to fish a Ned rig?

The Walleye Kit. It's the only one of the three that ships with jig heads: two 1/8 oz heads for deeper water and current, and two 1/10 oz heads for shallow flats and clear water. Thread an L-Leech or T-Leech on a head and you're fishing.

The Bass Kit lists hooks made for weedless rigging, not jig heads. If you want to fish its T-Worms on a Ned or shaky head, you'll need heads from somewhere else. The Walleye Kit's 1/10 oz heads are one option for that.

How do I fish the Walleye Kit?

  1. Pick the head by depth and current. Start with the 1/10 oz on flats and in clear water. Switch to the 1/8 oz in current, wind, or deeper rock. If you can't feel bottom, go heavier.
  2. Pick the tail. The L-Leech has a straight tail and a quiet look for clear water and cold fish. The T-Leech has a curly tail, so it gives more thump in stain or when fish are chasing.
  3. Cast, let it hit bottom, then drag or hop it 6 to 12 inches and pause. Most bites come on the pause or on the fall.
  4. Fish it on a light rod. A 6'0" Medium Light spinning rod rated 6-12 lb line and 1/16 to 1 oz lures covers both heads. Our Wilderness spinning rod length guide has the details.

For the full Ned sequence (drag, hop, shake), see how to fish a T-Leech on a Ned rig.

How do I fish the Bass Kit?

Rig the T-Worm or Rocket Squid weedless on the kit hooks and fish it slow around grass, docks, and wood. The Bass Kit page names Ned, wacky, shaky head, and drop shot as the rigs it's built for. The 6 hooks cover the weedless and wacky jobs. Ned and shaky head need a jig head the kit doesn't list.

  • T-Worm: wacky (hooked through the middle) or weedless along a weed edge. Let it fall on slack line and watch where your line enters the water.
  • Rocket Squid: a compact creature bait. Pitch it to docks and laydowns, let it fall, then give it two short hops.
  • Water color: the 6 T-Worms are picked to cover clear, stained, and dirty water. Start natural in clear water and dark in dirty water.

If you're not getting bit, slow down before you change colors.

Where does the Papa Jig Pack fit?

The Papa Jig Pack is a panfish kit, not a bass or walleye kit. It's four Papa Jig 2.0 jigs in either a Brights pack (Chartreuse, Orange, Bubble Gum, Glow) or a Naturals pack (Dark Pink, Brown, Orange, White), plus one spare hook set per jig and a box. Our TTS catalog lists the Papa Jig as a 3D-printed multi-species lure for crappie, bluegill, perch, and bass.

Pick Brights for low light, stained water, and evening. Pick Naturals for clear water in daylight. Fish it under a slip float over brush or dock shade. Our slip bobber crappie guide walks through that setup.

When is a kit the wrong buy?

  • You already know your color and size. Buy the single packs instead. Kits are for covering conditions, not for restocking one favorite.
  • You want free shipping. Free shipping starts at $199, and one kit won't get you there. Kits make sense added to a bigger order or as a gift.
  • You need heavy jigs. The heaviest head in these kits is 1/8 oz. For deep rock, big wind, or tailrace current, use a heavier jig. Our Ugly Bug river smallmouth guide covers stepping up weight in current.
  • You need exact colors. The kits ship as a working mix. Put the colors you want in the order notes, or call 1.877.623.2099 before you order.
