How-To Use the Nepag
Casting and retrieving this lure requires a slow lifting and lowering of rod tip for best results. A similar method is used when trolling. Jigging the bottom with a slow lift and lower will produce all bottom hugging game fish such as bass and walleye. The Nepag hosts a "glow" head made of tin, a light flashing holographic spinner, upriding snagfree hook and a deerhair body which holds scenting 10 times longer than plastic.
Method #1:
Cast, allow the Nepag to settle to the bottom, then lift and lower as it rolls up off the bottom, then settle once again. The Nepag can be worked through weed growth due to its snagfree hook position.
Method #2:
Vertically jig the Nepag and allow it to settle to the bottom. Then raise it a foot or so, lower and repeat. This presentation is enhanced by tipping the Nepag with live or cut bait.
NOTE: A straight rolling retrieve will entice species such as brook, brown and rainbow trout. Bass, pike, muskie, striper, hybrids, and white-bass will also succumb to the slow rolling retrieve.
NOTE: When selecting colors for the species you seek, go to the color that works best for you in crankbaits and jigs. Orange, natural and black are "HOT" smallmouth bass & trout colors while green works well on largemouth bass. Northern pike prefer the bright colors while walleye color picks would be yellow and chartreuse.
